Pineapple Express...

Believe it or not, it actually had some pretty funny parts...probably don't need to see it in the theatres...

Iris...

A very cute love story...sad in parts...but worth watching...

Mamma Mia...

I am a big ABBA fan and love the music. The movie, however, was a bit cheesy for me...it had some good moments though too. If you want something that has some fun music...go for it...

Dan in Real Life...

A fan of Steve Carrell, but lately have gotten annoyed with his characters...With that said, this was a much different role for him that I felt he played well. I even found myself crying in a couple parts. Definitely not a comedy, but worth watching...

Death at a Funeral...

A British comedy that at first I wasn't paying enough attention to, but it draws you in...so many silly things going on and misinterpretations. A great laugh...

Tell No One...

Based on one of Harlen Coben's books, the movie takes place in France or at least it is a French movie. It is a great murder mystery story, however, with so much going on, it is hard to follow due to the subtitles. Most of the time, subtitles do not bother me, but with this one, it was a bit hard. If you enjoy the French language, it is beautiful and worth watching. (of course, the book is better, but they normally are).

Miss Gulag...

A sad yet inspiring movie about a women's prison in Russia. As a woman, I felt fortunate for the freedoms I have, yet empowered by their stories at the same time. Most women are in the prison for standing up for themselves ro someone else, others, not so much. The prison puts on a Spring Pagent where participating in the pagent not only allows the women to feel beautiful, but helps them increase their chances of early parole. You'll get some laughs too. If you are looking for something different, I highly recommend it!

Blow Up...

An interesting insight into an artist's life. Whether you art is painting, sculpture, design, photography, etc, artist's have an unique way of looking at things. This particular artist was a photographer that made a living taking pictures of beautiful models, but his focus was on capturing real life stories and emotions through his art. The models were mearly his muses and distractions as you could see the wheels continuously turning in his head. I was intrigued with his thought process and how a simple comment or action would spur an new insight to his work. Manipulation was apparent on every level and in many different ways. An artist is always working as they never know what or who they might stumble across along the journey. I really liked it, but I can see why some may not.
